April 2024 News and Highlights

This month at Gathering Ground

Here’s what we’re doing, resources we love and what we’re excited about…

We’ve been busy…

Here is a recap of our equity-focused programming for April:

Elevating Equity Anti-Oppression Collaborative Learning Program

  • Workshops 2 and 3 – we are at the midpoint of our Elevating Equity Anti-Oppression Collaborative Learning Program and the impact of this endeavor is already evident. Cohort participants are forming strong connections with one another, building a supportive community that transcends organizational boundaries and backgrounds. The energy in the room is palpable as diverse voices come together to share experiences, explore new ideas and ways of thinking and seeing the world, challenge assumptions, and envision a more equitable future. As we look ahead to the remaining workshops, the excitement and commitment to fighting oppression and fostering positive change are undeniable.

Communities in Conversation

  • On April 17th, we hosted a successful Communities in Conversation. We had some first time participants attend who shared with us how grateful they were for the opportunity provided by Gathering Ground to have meaningful conversations, exchanges of ideas, strategies, and resources in a welcoming, inclusive and safe space where everyone’s voice was valued and respected. The virtual gathering was truly a heartwarming experience, with individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together to connect and engage in open dialogue. As we continue to cultivate these opportunities for interaction and collaboration, our hope is to continue to build bridges that transcend differences and unite us in our shared humanity.

We are grateful for the chance to facilitate these conversations and look forward to many more enriching sessions ahead. If you are interested in partnering with us for a future Communities in Conversation, please reach out to Maria Carnemolla, Executive Director, at, or Kacy O’Brien, Director of Programming, at
