In Nov. 2021 after ten years of our evolving mission and impact, we changed our name to Gathering Ground. You may still find reference to our old name Creative New Jersey in posts created prior to Nov. 2021.

Rahway: Creative Ideas

Passport Group (Student mentors): The concept has developed into a passport-style book that will be distributed to Rahway youth encouraging participation in events/activities that enrich or encourage personal growth and connect students directly with Rahway businesses and organizations.

Electronic Signboard: One of the needs identified during Creative Rahway was an electronic signboard located in the train station plaza to provide event information for commuters and other pedestrians, as well as vehicular traffic. Following the convening, two residents presented a detailed proposal to the Mayor’s Office.

Creative Rahway for Education: This group of administrators meet monthly to discuss ways in which Rahway schools can better connect with arts and downtown business communities.  Furthermore, the group brainstorms on ways to improve the image of Rahway public schools, use effective cross promotion, event coordination, and collaborative marketing.

Rahway’s Own Exhibition: An exhibit celebrating Rahway’s unique history and the successful people who have called Rahway ‘home’.

“What an energizing and enlightening event! It was so wonderful to convene with recovery partners across the state to reflect on lessons learned. When we join forces and find a common voice, we are so much stronger and more effective. I look forward to being part of this movement to make meaningful changes which will positively impact the future of response and recovery in NJ.”
