What Matters This Season?

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s beneficial that we take a moment to remember what’s important. It’s easy to get swept away by stress, responsibilities, and all forms of comparison. Yet, the thing that really matters is connection with others whether that’s our family, our family of choice, our friends and neighbors or coworkers. Remember that love and kindness is our primary purpose and to use it to spread the joy of the holiday season.

It is easy to focus on the negative things; what we can’t do, what we think we need to do, perfectionism, family stressors. Remember what we devote our time to, is what we manifest. Let’s try this holiday season to choose our focus wisely. How important is what we are stressing about and how much energy are we giving it? 

There are ways to connect, show, and receive the love that’s all around us, if we take the time to see it. If we slow down, stop and look around, we can see the beauty that is with us all the time. It’s important to not only embrace these moments but to cherish them because they could be gone in the blink of an eye. Here are a few simple traditions I have to help me remember the reason for the season; drive around and see the lights, bake your holiday favorites, or watch your favorite holiday film – every year I sit down, by myself, with a delicious treat and watch It’s A Wonderful Life. 

This is the time of year for gratitude and giving thanks for all we have!
